Welcome to Ignisfall

Published

The fire is out, the woods are waking up, and the game finally has its name: Ignisfall.

Ignis is Latin for fire. The fall is the night coming down on the woods, and the fire you rain back on it. It reads the same in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and it says what the game is about: holding back the dark until dawn.

It is a dark-fantasy survivor roguelike. You steer a hunter through twenty minutes of a cursed night while your spells cast themselves, and every level-up asks you to choose. Make the right choices and by the last minutes you are a storm of fire, frost and steel carving through hundreds of monsters.

What is in the game today

  • Six hunters, from the Ash Wanderer to the Grave Warden, each with a starting skill, a passive and their own stats.
  • Three lands with their own monsters, bosses and music: the Ashen Wilds, the Drowned Marsh and the Bone Catacombs.
  • 26 skills and 16 Awakenings. Max a skill, own its catalyst, and the next chest Awakens it.
  • Embers 0 to 10, endless mode with the Pale Reaper, and daily and weekly challenges.
  • Full controller support and eight languages.

What comes next

The Steam page is the next big step. When it goes live, this site will point to it, and wishlisting will be the best way to hear about the launch.

Until then, this devlog is where the news lands. Thank you for reading, and keep the fire lit.
